Twelve Months of Northern Ohio Herps in 2020 (Part 4)
A young American Bullfrog that I found on August 15.
A backyard Northern Two-lined Salamander larva that I also found on August 15th.
A Red-ear Slider at Canalway Center on August 24th.
I also saw my only Softshell Turtle in the same place on the same day as the slider.
A backyard Green Frog on September 8th.
And a backyard Redback Salamander on the same day.
On September 16th I took a trip to northwest Ohio ad found some cool stuff, like this DeKay's Brown Snake.
American Bullfrog.
Common Snapping Turtle.
A nicely patterned young Northern Water Snake.
A dark adult Northern Water Snake.
Baby Eastern Fox Snakes.
A young Eastern Garter Snake in a shed cycle.
On September 24th I saw this Common Snapping Turtle in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
A Dekay's Brown Snake that I found on the same day.
A September 24th Midland Painted Turtle.
A late September Spring Peeper.
In October I found two backyard amphibians, the first being this Redback Salamander.
The second being this Northern Two-lined Salamander.
A Midland Painted Turtle on November 4th.
A Red-ear Slider on November 9th.
A Northern Two-lined Salamander that I saw on the same day as the slider.
On December 1st I observed this Midland Painted Turtle basking.
My last herps of the year were these Red-ear Sliders seen on December 11th.
