From June 6-10, 2002 the annual NOAH Field Trip took place near Morgantown, WV. A record number of 44 people enjoyed reptile catching and camaraderie. All reptiles and amphibians were photographed and released at their point of capture unharmed.

Our Guide
West Virginia resident and NOAH member, Larry Cartmill, was our guide on this trip. Here he is helping a rattlesnake shed its skin. A total of eight Timber Rattlesnakes (Crotalus horridus) were found on the trip.

These rocky outcroppings are ideal places to look for reptiles and amphibians.

Several Copperheads (Agkistrodon contortrix) were caught during the 5 day outing.

Red Efts and Red-spotted Newts (Notophthalmus viridescens) were common.
Toad American Toad
We found plenty of American Toads (Bufo americanus) on the hikes.

This Eastern Garter (Thamnophis sirtalis) is patterned somewhat like a Checkered Garter Snake.
